Founders are two weeks ahead

Founder's Access opened Oct 6 and those characters carry over. Until the Oct 15 patch, kills from burn and bleed damage gave double EXP and drops.

Nexon

New accounts can't trade yet

Trading unlocks 24 hours after a character on your account reaches Lv. 15.

Nexon

Only 3 characters

That's the limit per account. Deleting a character has a waiting period before it's gone.

Nexon

No 3rd job yet

The cap is Lv. 100, but jobs stop at 2nd job. Nexon is reworking 3rd job, Orbis and El Nath before they return.

Nexon

Megaphones need Lv. 15

It was Lv. 10 before launch. Megaphones already in your inventory keep the old requirement.

Nexon

Only NX is shared

Maple Points, MVP perks, character names and items stay in regular MapleStory. Bans apply to both games.

          You hit with

Warriors, Bowmen and Thieves hit with weapons, Magicians with magic. Monsters defend against each differently. It follows your job pick above.

          How the maps are ranked

A map's score is the EXP its monsters pay for every 100 damage you deal, each kind counted by how often it spawns. A monster's defence and the damage you lose against monsters above your level both count, using the client's formulas Game data.

Only monsters from 10 levels under you to 3 over you count, and a map needs at least half its spawns in that band. When fewer than 5 maps qualify, the band reaches 5 levels further down. Maps where more than a quarter of the monsters are over 3 levels above you are left out.

A map that holds fewer than 12 monsters at a time counts for less in proportion (one that holds 6 counts half), since you wait for respawns. Spawn points on a long timer count less, and field bosses don't count.

It doesn't know your damage, so it can't tell when you kill in one hit. Then the EXP per kill matters more than the EXP per HP. The job guide above has each job's picks from meowdb's class guides.

              Quest route

One walk through 125 quests on Maple Island and Victoria Island, from Lv 1 to about Lv 48. You take every quest before you hunt for it, and you pick up drops for later quests on the maps you already pass.

Planned from meowdb's quest, monster and map data Game data Levels are cautious estimates.

                0fewer maps to walk

The same 125 quests done one at a time, each finished before the next, against this route. Game data

We counted moves between maps on meowdb's portal map. "One at a time" walks from each quest giver to the nearest map with its monsters or drops, then to the NPC who takes it, and rides a cab whenever that saves 4 or more maps. It leaves out training trips, which the route includes, so the real gap is larger. It is an estimate.

                What the route assumes
                • Levels come from replaying the route with base monster EXP and no rate bonus. You will usually be a little ahead. Game data
                • One kill counts for every quest in your log that wants that monster. Nobody has confirmed this for Classic yet.
                • Drop rates are not in the data. Item counts assume you keep hunting until you have them.
                • Four moves are not portals in the map data: the Free Market Entrance, the party quest through Lakelis, the Forest of Patience through Shane, and Shumi's jump quests from the subway.
                • Training stops use meowdb's spots for each level band. Each stop's tip lists other classes' picks.
                • Mark of the Beta: nobody says yet whether you must go back to Jay between pages. The event ends Nov 18.

                Why this order

Take every quest before you hunt

Olaf and Teo both want Slimes. Take both in Lith Harbor first, and each of the 10 Slimes counts for both.

Wait until it's in your log

Leave the pigs east of Henesys alone at Lv 11. Nella's and JM's pig kills only count once you accept them in Kerning City, so the pig drops come from L Forest I.

                Farm once for many quests

One stump batch on West Street Corner of Perion drops 142 Tree Branches and 70 Leaves. They cover Blackbull, Icarus, Vicious, Francois, Wing and Sophia, plus 10 Processed Wood.

Carry drops to the town that wants them

Perion's Tree Branches ride along the west road to Icarus in Kerning City, then on the coast road to Vicious's crafting station in Henesys.

                One stay, two quests

A single stop in the Kerning City subway gives Ronnie his 50 Jr. Wraith kills and drops the 80 Tablecloths that Ronnie and Icarus share.

                Hand in on the way

Jay's six Mark of the Beta pages lead past NPCs who want what's in your bag. On the way, Utah gets Camila's marble, Wing gets the snail shells you saved since Lith Harbor, and Nella, Jane Doe, Manji and Sophia take your drops.
